Guess Who's Back?

Yes, I'm back from my summer job at camp and am back to my blog. You can expect far more regular posts now. But for now I've got these. One nature shot and one purely satirical.

In a Haze

Archipelago Photography is now the official photographer for London's newest grunge band Haze. We had a great shoot last night and I'm expecting another one tonight.

Another Week of Photos!

So I went back to camp for a week. I'm now home for two then back for four. Full summer to say the least. While I was at camp I was working hard so I didn't take a whole lot of pictures, therefor less photos to blog. I do however have a few for you. Enjoy

Focus

The first thing I think of when I look at this photograph, is a candle. Because, to me, that's what it looks like. It could look like any number of things to various people. and thats why I like it. In reality, it is a photo of fireworks. I was at a fireworks show, and decided to manually focus my camera as shallow as it could and make the photo. I really enjoy the interpretive quality of this photo, overall.

What I'm Up To

So this summer I got a camp counsellor job at Pearce Williams Christian Centre. While there I have no computer so this blog has become rather blank recently. But, just because I can't blog, doesn't mean I'm not taking pictures. I was away for 10 days, and took 887 photos. 887! So to let you know that I still have you guys in my mind, here's a few samples of what I've been doing. Although most of my photos are of people, and these are landscap-ish, it's only because A tree won't complain about you putting their picture on your blog.

A is for Anarchy

I don't know what's with this anarchy theme I seem to be on, but I assure you, when I was biking home from old East at 6 in the morning last Sunday, I did not have anarchistic thoughts on my mind. Most of my thoughts were more like "Where is everybody?!" "Did I miss the rapture or something?". I went straight through two of the most densely populated areas of the city, Downtown and Wortley Village, and saw NOBODY. That freaked me out, so I decided to travel by the bike paths a bit. I saw this barbed wire, which looked odd to me, because it was guarding a factory, and it didn't sit right with me. So, I made this photo, with that in mind, and the dramatic sunburst over the telephone pole, as my theme. I had a really hard time deciding what would be parallel to the frame, the telephone pole or the fence. I realized that having it adjusted to the telephone pole put it at odds with the fence, and I liked it.
