This Is Not Me

This right here, is Part One of a study I'm working on called, you guessed it, This Is Not Me. This first photo in the series is called simply Reading a Book. I plan to create several more photographs with the same style but in more and more challenging poses. If you would like to me to make a photo of Not You, just send me a message, I would love volunteers.

Rhythmic Variety

Something fun to try when making a photo, is to incorporate two opposite Elements or Principles of Design. The point of the various elements is to give guidelines as to what the human eye finds appealing, but often the eye finds two things appealing that are quite opposite. Some examples are: Simplicity and Variety; Line and Shape; Contrast and Harmony; and my favourite: Rhythm and Variety. Rhythm is the eye's enjoyment of a repetition of shapes or elements, and variety is the representation of multiple (significantly) different elements. So, repeating a pattern and having things varied gets tricky. The first photo, Snow Fort, and the second, both use a pattern of repeating elements that are significantly different from each other. Snow Fort uses different light sources and shades of snow to separate the repeating snow blocks, and Fruit Salad uses the repeating fruit candies to show a pattern and the random assortment of said candies to Keep it interesting.
