Fire and Ice

Winter is the season of Ice. As the coldest time of the year is upon us, we can see its awe-inspiring effects. The snow and ice lend themselves to be photographed. These icicles, at a home in Huron Woods, Grand Bend, show great detail when photographed with the house lights (a bright orange) and a simple camera flash (a bright blue). The other photograph shows a little study I did with a Tim Hortons cup in a fireplace. It's sort of a foil for the study of icicles I made. the entire two studies are shown here at Flickr.
